Relay Number 3 for Hopewell Area is only two months away! But with the help of our great committee, we'll pull it off again! THANK YOU COMMITTEE MEMBERS!
We'll share a little bit of our story about why we Relay. Kathy lost a sister, age 5, in the 1950's, due to a malignant brain tumor. Kathy never knew her as she died before Kathy was born. Her sister Judy is a breast cancer survivor, now 7 plus years, and she turned us on to Relay after participating in an event in Kentucky. Her father is also a cancer survivor! Jim's father's cancer had progressed to the point where treatment was stopped, and he passed away this past Christmas. Our brother-in-law Jim also passed away in December due to lung cancer.
Everyone has been touched by this disease in some way, and this is our way to fight back. We remember those lost, celebrate those who have overcome, and help to raise funds to continue the battle. A cure is coming. We see success through our survivors, and celebrate that success with them.
Won't you join us this year in our endeavors? We guarantee to make it a memory to treasure, with lots of fun entertainment to boot! So bring your team, all the survivors you can find, and together we'll have a great time!
